21st Dresdner Schmalfilmtage

In March, shortly before the festival, stopped by the coronavirus, the dresdner schmalfilmtage are now to take place in October. On the 10th of October 2020 – what a wonderfully tidy date – the 20th GlobalSuper8Day would have taken place, if it weren’t for the general uncertainty. In the year of Super 8’s 55th birthday on this day we are holding the world’s only substitute event and will show: TRASH MOVIES at the end of the Sustainability Festival “Umundu-Festival Dresden” and start of the schmalfilmtage.

From 15th till 18th October the Motorenhalle Dresden belongs to the schmalfilm industry. Restricted program, airing of the hall in extended breaks, noble distances, all this has been part of the glocal emotions since some time! The world united in the signs of the viruses! Let us celebrate and celebrate the farewell to the old analogue world with films that were selected before the catastrophe! The eternal dream of the New World, it lives analog! Because our brains work analog, according to everything we know about them. So let’s celebrate the renaissance of the analog. Film on schmalfilm strips is in again and has never really been out. Not because of the world-connecting pandemic, no, because of inner and cinematic conviction, we have chosen the GLOBAL and LOCAL emotions connecting English word GLOCAL as our motto. By the way, we already choose this slogan in 2019, murmuring knowing that it would fit. How much it fits, you will experience at the 21. dresdner schmalfilmtage at the Motorenhalle!
