Out now: The Single-8-Story

60 years of Fujica movie cameras

July 14th, 2025

After more than a year of research, the time has finally come. The book “Single-8-Story,” largely financed by crowdfunding, will be published at the end of July. Jürgen Lossau and Samuel Preston describe the history of Fujifilm’s Japanese small format movie system, which will celebrate its 60th anniversary in 2025. The illustrated book features large-format photos of all movie cameras from Fujica, Elmo, Canon, Konica, and Yashica, as well as many brochures and advertising materials. From ashtrays to playing cards to beach accessories, there have been all sorts of unusual items in Japan.
